I’m a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (IPMU) in Tokyo, Japan.
My research focuses on the cosmic web and the network of filaments that connects galaxies across the Universe. I study these structures at different scales, from the small-scale filaments that influence how galaxies grow and evolve, to the large-scale web that shapes the overall distribution of matter in the Universe.
I was born and raised in Quito, Ecuador, and I’m the first woman astrophysicist from my country. I'm passionate about making science more inclusive and using it as a tool for social change. I am the founder and director of the AEPIS project, dedicated to making science more inclusive and accessible for people from underrepresented communities.
Outside of research, I enjoy dancing, yoga, and music — creative spaces have always been a big part of my life.
